Role Overview
Reporting to the Sales Director (APAC), this pivotal role is based in Sydney, Australia with a focus on winning new mid-tier multinational clients. The role also helps grow the existing base of regional clients across all cycle phases of our SD-WAN service offering (Assess > Deploy > Manage > Optimize), with the majority of the focus being in the Assess and Optimise phases.
The successful candidate will be critical in driving growth and managing key client relationships across the APAC region. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven new business development and account management track record.
Responsibilities
1. Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the APAC region.
- Through disciplined prospecting efforts build a pipeline of new logo opportunities in line with the company target market.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate with the technical pre-sales (Technical Consultants) to ensure client buy-in
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through proactive prospecting and networking and drive internally through your own direct efforts and those of our inside sales team.
- Engage vendor partners to gain access to new leads and opportunities as a skilled partner.
- Create customised deal quotes based on clients’ needs.
- Present the solution in a consultative sales process across a range of client stakeholders.
2. Account Management:
- You will find incremental opportunities, manage the sales cycle, and sustain ongoing client relationships.
- Understand clients’ business needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their objectives.
- Serve as the key point of contact for clients, addressing any commercial topics promptly and effectively.
- Proactively map the account portfolio to identify the best opportunities for growth by upselling, cross-selling and new service offerings.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and project execution, and proactively work closely with and seek advice from our Technical Consultants.
- Work with the Client Experience team to ensure renewals are proactively addressed with Client Experience completing initial renewal activities and the Sales and Account Director responsible for engaging and negotiating with the client.
3. Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement strategic account plans to drive client engagement and growth.
- Collaborate with your Team, in particular marketing and global sales colleagues, to align business development initiatives with company goals.
- Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor activities, and client feedback to inform strategy.
4. Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities, sales performance, and account status.
- Use Salesforce and other tools to track and manage sales activities, pipeline, and client interactions.
- Analyse data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for action.
Skills and Experience
Industry Knowledge
- 4+ years of relatable experience
- Some broad IT&T industry experience is desired but not essential
- Experience creating complex quotes and responding to RFP’s
- Strong understanding of the APAC OR ASEAN market dynamics and business culture desired
- Experience with SD‑WAN, SASE, multi‑cloud networking and other next‑generation network technologies is a bonus but not essential
Knowledge of the following technologies (hands‑on experience desired but not essential):
- Network and security solutions within the broader IT stack
- WAN designs (MPLS / Internet etc.)
- Network and Application Performance Management concepts and tools
- Security considerations and concepts
- Cloud delivery, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS concepts and services
Sales Capability, Communication & Relationship Skills
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth
- Excellent written and verbal communication (including negotiation and presentation skills)
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
Tools
- Proficient in CRM software, including Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite
- Advanced Excel skills

Qualifications & Requirements
- Tertiary qualification is desired in business or marketing is desired, but it is not essential.
- 3+ years of work experience with Account Sales Strategies
